ANNUAL DO GOOD RAFFLE!

stampavie
If you are a long-time 7 KIDS customer, you are aware that I do a charity raffle every year to support a special organization. For the last few years, I have been supporting an organization called Singleton Moms. This year, I am supporting a NEW organization started by one of the founding members of Singleton Moms. This new organization is called Singleton Love. Founding member Andy Royal moved from Phoenix to Portland, Ore., and is now providing services to single parents undergoing cancer treatment in that city. The special thing about this new organization is that it is entirely volunteer supported. That means every dime we donate will go straight to the parents who need help so desperately. Most organizations, obviously, have costly infrastructure and paid employees, which is not a bad thing as these are needed to run larger organizations. But the beauty of a small, start-up organization like Singleton Love is that our donations will have a more direct impact on the people they intend to help! Singleton Love will be providing the following services to single parents undergoing cancer treatment: bill payment assistance, house cleaning, and meal delivery.

To start, I am raffling off the freebies I received at CHA, as well as 2 Prima Hats decorated by 7 KIDS DT member Rhea Weigand! Look for more pictures of flowers and embellishments in the raffle soon! I will be adding additional products as I receiving extras or donations from my vendors. Keep checking back for new items added to the raffle!

With this raffle, we are donating the seed money to the organization to start helping single parents undergoing cancer treatment. Last year, 7 KIDS customers donated over $1500. Let's beat that this year!!! Remember, all money donated will go directly to the parents Singleton Love is helping!!!

RULES
In order to be entered to win prizes, please do the following:

1) Make a donation to Singleton Love. There is a donation button on the front page of their website. All donations are through PayPal. At this time, Singleton Love has submitted their 501c(3) paperwork, but has not been approved. Donations are NOT currently tax deductible. When Singleton Love is granted their non-profit status, you will receive a receipt for your tax records.

2) Forward me the e-mail confirmation from PayPal of your donation. e-mail to 7kidscollegefund@cox.net. For every $5 you donate, you will receive one entry in the drawing. If you donate $5, you will receive ONE entry. If you donate $50, you will receive 10 entries. The more you donate, the greater your chance of winning!

3) Donations made through March 22 will be eligible for the drawing. Winners will be announced here on March 23!

7 KIDS customer Donna Mikasa on ShinHan Art Markers

TOUCHdown!

Hi friends! No, this is not a post about the upcoming Super Bowl game. It's about the new Touch markers by Shinhan Art

Living on Oahu, there's a Copics distributorship conflict, and I am unable to have them mailed to me by any online companies. Bummer! 7 Kids College Fund informed me that they'll soon be selling some alcohol based markers by Shinhan Art, and I was intrigued.

Enter Steven Berman, the president of Shinhan USA. He graciously sent me some markers to test and review, and I feel that they performed as superior as Copics do.

I colored this image with the Touch markers, and I was able to use my Copics with them--they blended beautifully together.

I also used the Copics colorless blender and dotted Yoshimi's kimono for some texture.

Give the Touch markers a try, especially if you've always wanted to try Copics. They're less expensive, refillable, and they come in 168 brilliant colors, including a colorless blender. The pens are comfortable to hold, and blend well with any Copics you may already own.

Carisa's Monochromatic Design

Don't forget to enter your Monochromatic Design into the 7 Kids Challenge Blog. Here Carisa designed a Sepia Toned Card! Sepia Tones are fun and Carisa even listed all the colors she used below! Take a minute to stop by a visit Carisa's Blog for even more inspiration!

Julie
I just love products that provide versatility, and the Tattered Pinecone die by Tim Holtz is perfect for versatility. You might think it can only be used for Christmas, but check out the flowers on the card. These flowers were created with the Tattered Pinecone die as are the rust-colored branches the flowers rest on. This die is available at 7 Kids College Fund, so get yours while you can.

This sweet Tilda is from the new Magnolia Collection, Sweet Crazy Love.  I colored her using copic markers and gave her a little bling with Crystal Stickles. What little girl doesn't like a little bling in her day?

Care for a cup o' tea...or, my personal preference, coffee?!  I decided to try something a bit different this time, in honor of the new 7 Kids Store Blog...so I went "shabby chic"!! I just love the way it turned out...hope you enjoy. Oh...and for more photos and info about this card, please click on my name (up there) and come visit my blog. Perhaps I'll even offer you a spot of tea...or coffee...and a biscuit!

So, here's what I used to make this cutie patootie card:
Cryogen Paper (Copics blend like "buttah" on this paper!)
Melissa Frances Mini Bags & Tags (I'm so glad 7 Kids has these...love 'em!)
Zutter Distrezz-it-all (very cool addition to my tools! Love it!)
Copic Sketch Markers (I love these...just got the new colors...delish!)
Prismacolor Pencils (to create deeper, richer shading over Copics)
Sookwang Adhesive (I couldn't live without this!)

It's not secret that I love The Greeting Farm stamps and I love that 7 Kids College Fund always carries a great selection at a wonderful price. I also love my Copic Markers to do all my coloring and my go to paper for stamping & coloring is Copic Xpress It card stock. Some people have told me it's pricey but it's well worth it b/c of the blending that I'm able to achieve and I'll be honest, one ream has lasted me well over a year since I strictly only use it for stamping my images I probably get at least 12-15 images out of one sheet.

With prices of other markers going up so dramatically, it's wonderful to have other options coming on the market! One of these options is the new ShinHan Art Touch Twin Brush Markers. These markers have a chisel end and a brush end just like Copics. In fact, many users are comparing the quality and saying the only difference is the cost...with ShinHan retailing at nearly 40% less than Copic's MSRP of $6.99.
The ShinHan Art markers are refillable and the nibs are replaceable. If you have been looking for a more reasonably priced premium alcohol ink marker, look no further!

Features Include:
  • Ergonomically designed body for an easy grip
  • 168 brilliant colors
  • Double-ended with brush and broad nibs
  • The finest control of ink flow, absolutely no smudging or bleeding
  • Odorless
  • Refillable ink and replaceable nibs
The response at CHA was overwhelmingly positive with attendees trying these markers out. Checkout their Facebook page to see what people are saying. DT member Suzanne Dean visited their booth and is giving the ShinHan Markers the THUMBS UP! Look for her to be using them on her blog in the near future.

These markers are on PREORDER in the store now, and should be shipping late February/early March. There are currently 168 markers in the collection with more colors being released soon. Also look for nibs and ink refills shortly.

I recommend visiting YouTube and checking out some of the videos there using ShinHan Art Markers.

The latest edition of Magnolia Ink Magazine is in the store now for preorder. This image just went up on the Magnolia website, so that usually means the magazines will be on their way to me soon. I expect to have them by the end of February for shipment. I will update the availability in the listing if I get more specific information. This issue is called Cherryblossoms & Lilacs.

NEW PRINCES AND PRINCESSES COLLECTION
I placed an order for the Princes and Princesses Collection at CHA. As soon as the images are available to me, I will put that collection in the store for preorder. I will also have the "special stamps" available for preordering at that time. These are stamps that were originally produced for certain stores or as Magnolia Sweden exclusives that are now available for general purchase.
