Watercoloring with Copics

Hello, Rhea here today to share a fun copic technique my dear friend and amazing Copic Instructor, Jennifer Dove taught me. It has become one of my go to techniques when I want a "Water Color" look or I don't have a lot of time to spend coloring.

Because we will be working with Copic Markers you will need to stamp your CRP179 Violets with Memento Ink.

We will not be coloring but using a water brush filled with 99% Isopropyl Alcohol.  Next you will need a piece of acetate or plastic of any kind to use as your pallet.

Color your markers onto the acetate.  Now take the water brush filled with alcohol an touch the tip of the brush into the color needed.

Starting with the background place the tip of the brush next to the line with you want your darkest color .  then smush and drag out ward.  The lighter the color the less you will see the color until the alcohol dries.  I added the contrast purple after the blue.

Want to put a little personality into your background?  Fill a spritz bottle with the same alcohol your put in your brush.  Make sure to label so you know :)  Also make sure to check the sprayer is away from your face.  Oh sure, you are thinking...."Duh"....but I promise you will spray yourself only once and then you will check every time after that.

Spray a small area of burlap.  Gently lay it on the background for only a few seconds.  You will se it start to work right away.  As it dries you will see the texture of the burlap.

Double click on the photo to enlarge and see the texture from the burlap.

You can do any type of layout with any type of paper.  So I am going to move to another tip!
for this we are going to use Stampendous Micro Glitter and a thin glue or glossy accent type product and a tulle knot bow.  I put the adhesive on my fingers and rubbed it on both sides of the tulle.  Then I lightly dusted the bow with the glitter.  Oh my is it cool.

Unfortunately, it doesn't show in the photo very well.

Add the following elements.  You can see the card before adding Stampendous Elements...they sure do make a big difference.  I used the following attached with Aleene's Paper Glaze and in this order:

Thanks for spending time with me today, see you next week.  Happy Coloring :)  Rhea

Rose Fairy by Rhea

It's time for another challenge at
Are you ready to play along with us?  Our challenge is...
Anything Goes!

Hello, Rhea here this morning to share with you a little inspiration.  I also want to let you know we are kicking off our new fun filled and easy challenge and we hope you play along!  You can win a $20 gift certificate to the 7 Kids College Fund store.
For this challenge Anything Goes!!!  No matter how you design it counts as long as you use an image that 7 Kids College Fund carries :)  I hope you play along with us!

Here is my inspiration for this challenge :)  It's a combination of soft pinks and greens with warm garnet and a lot of embossing.  I embossed the image with clear bark but first added a little ultra fine gold glitter to give it a little twinkle.   For her wings I used clear embossing powder mixed with pink and gold glitter.  I love the effect it gave even though it is hard to see in the photo.

I did a "color wash" or a "dry brush" on the image with distress ink and eye shadow applicators.  No water was used...Fairies are alergic to water, it makes them swell up and turn green with purple not attractive! No fairies were hurt making this design.

I hope you enjoyed this little fairy.  Crafters Companion has a wonderful series of fairies. The sets are amazing because not only are there several images in your set, but you get the main image in a smaller and larger size!  They are perfect for coloring with your copics too.
Thanks for stopping by and happy creating :)  See you next Wednesday at 7 Kids College Fund!  Rhea

Now, lets do some shopping!

Soap Making Supplies

7 KIDS is working to expand its crafty offerings beyond the boundaries of cardmaking. I recently added quilling products. Now I am adding soap making. This just looks incredibly fun, particularly the bath salt/bath fizzy kit. I bought one for my daughter because she has a thing for bath fizzies (and they are so darn expensive in the store)! No only can we save money doing them on our own, it's totally fun!!!

I have added kits, soap blocks, fragrances and colors: everything you need to start creating beautiful soaps for your home or as gifts!

GORJUSS GIRLS!!! Happy Dance! Fist Pump! Huge Smile!

I cannot tell you how long I have been waiting to be able to get these awesome products in the store! Finally, Docrafts has a licensing agreement with the artist and they are producing Gorjuss Girls stamps, paper, kits and embellishments. These products are available for preorders now and should be shipping to you in early to mid April!

Aside from the awesome designs, another great thing about this line is that every part of it is designed for use, so nothing goes to waste, even the exterior packaging (which is incredibly cool)!

This brand new stamp series from Crafter's Companion features the sweetest collection of little girls and little girl angels. All stamps come with sentiments and accessory stamps, are EZMounted and on a full-color index sheet for easy storage and retrieval.

Docrafts products

Docrafts is the largest manufacturer of crafty stuff in the UK and they are now in the US! I just put all the Docrafts nesting dies and some other Docraft dies in the store. The awesome thing about these dies is their price! If you haven't invested in Spellbinders' basic dies yet, take a look at these. 7 KIDS has them for $11.69 and $13.49.

There are also some multi-die sets that create scenes that will be out very soon. These are so cool! I will post a picture of them on Facebook if you are interested.

These folders emboss on three levels for a multi-dimensional look! Check them out.

Docrafts have a line of embellishments including flowers, ribbon and buttons to go with their Papermania line of paper. If you love coordination, you'll love Docrafts!

Love is all you Need

Did everyone have a great week? It is hard to believe February is almost over. Just think spring is right around the corner!
